Major Auto Manufacturer
Headquarters Facility and Technology Relocation - A Major Automotive Manufacturer had decided to relocate their US based Headquarters approximately 2000 miles to be in local proximity to their manufacturing plants. Our Infrastructure team was engaged to assist the company in managing the technology portion of this transition.
We began this assignment by developing a comprehensive migration plan articulating the process of migrating the facility, as well as the timings associated with the transition, the major challenges to be overcome, the resource requirements, and a proposed budget. This work was done in conjunction with our completing site surveys of several potential new Headquarters sites, and providing an analysis of the challenges associated with each.
We were further engaged to provide Management services for the actual technology relocation. Defined as the Critical Path project, this included the construction of all core infrastructure (power, cooling, network) in the new facility, build-out of the new corporate systems, migration of Applications, and the inventory of and migration of all data, including any remediation needed to support systems and network architectural changes. In addition, our team spearheaded the architecture and implementation of new Active Directory systems environments to support the new facility.
