Management –
Helping our clients to create or enhance their existing
Project Management Offices is a key differentiator for
NewVista Advisors. Knowing multiple project management
methodologies (Six Sigma, Rational Unified Process and CMM to name a few),
NewVista Advisors is able to advise
senior management on which methodology, governance path
and lag-indicator auditing measures to implement within
their organization.
In addition, our Engagement Project Managers are able to
manage multiple projects and provide visibility into the
project details, resource allocation availability and
critical issues that need attention due to cross project
dependencies. Having our staff engaged at this level
reduces the business AND technology risk to our clients
significantly as we are able to provide them the details
of where and when they have critical exposure (business
and regulatory drivers are some examples).
Individual Project Management –
With an eye toward providing best practices, thought
leadership and “setting the bar” for internal project
management capabilities, NewVista Advisors staffs some of
the most experienced project managers in the industry.
Our experience has shown that the more experience our PM’s have, the better they are able to navigate the
implementation waters away from the traditional risks
and hit the target of delivering on-time and on-budget.
A specific area in which many of our clients utilize our
services is the Project Management Maturity Model: the
concept that a company is only as good as its weakest
member, in this case, project manager. Educating our
clients on how to identify and balance their inventory
of project manager expertise yields convincing results.
By empowering the company’s “eagle” project managers to
mentor the “cub scout” project managers, the entire
group is able to bond better internally and deliver
better service to the organization through the knowledge
sharing that occurs both formally and non-formally.
Vendor Project Management –
We use both existing relationships with technology
vendors and established client/vendor relationships to
make up the total mix of people we are responsible to
control for project delivery. Types of projects in this
space are usually configured tool installation and
deployment, assessments, audits and build-out
infrastructure.
