Technology Relocation Prudential Securities Back Office Headquarters at 1 New York Plaza in Manhattan

Planning a large-scale relocation of your facility includes the technology relocation of your communications networks and information systems. These systems are essential to your business and must be up and running the next business day after the move. At risk is no less than the ability of the organization to continue to function.

The organization, however, --and especially The IT Organization-- is not staffed to support this major activity in addition to their day-to-day responsibilities, nor are the specific skills and tools necessary for this type of technology event typically in place.  In addition, there are a number of considerations specific to relocation that need to be properly addressed minimize the cost and risk of the event, as well as to maximize the added value that can be achieved during the relocation process.

Why should you trust your company's Technology Relocation to NewVista Advisors?

NewVista Advisors has spearheaded the relocation of some of the most notable companies in the US.  This experience will make your relocation a major success.

Some key questions we can help you answer include:

  • How do I maximize the infrastructure Redundancies and Diversities to maximize the environments availability and to minimize the risk?

  • What sort of Power and cooling infrastructure do I need to install to ensure systems availability?  How long should the systems be kept running on backup power?  How do I ensure that all power and cooling systems provide sufficient diversity and redundancy?  How does an eventual migration to higher density Blade servers impact the power and heat density within the datacenter?

  • Should I consider migrating my telephone systems to Voice over IP technology.  What are the driving benefits, the risks of migrating or not migrating, the impact on the move?  How do I mitigate the risks and provide the internal knowledge necessary migrate successfully?   What are the organizational implications of such a migration?  Will the Voice and data co-exist on the same network?

  • How will the deployment of new network technology impact the types of traffic flowing across the networks and the tools your company needs to provide to manage it

  • Do changes to the internal technical infrastructure drive changes to the tools that are currently installed to manage the current infrastructure?

  • What changes should be considered in architecting a new Wide Area Network to service the new facility?  How do you manage current network connectivity contracts in place?

  • How do you swing the Wide Area Networks from the current facility to the new facility?

  • How will the migration to the new facility and a new technical environment impact my Disaster Recovery Plans?

  • Are there opportunities for consolidation or transformation (standardization) that can be / should be leveraged during the migration?
